As we gear up for our Walk to End Alzheimer’s events this fall in Anchorage & Soldotna, we want to take a moment to recognize our enthusiastic and dedicated Walk Manager, Cyrese! Throughout the year, she works tirelessly to raise awareness, fundraise for research, and bring colorful and inspiring walks in Alaska to life! We had a chat with Cyrese to discover what inspires her in the relentless fight to end Alzheimer’s and here’s what she had to say!

Tell us a little bit about yourself
An Alaska girl with over a decade of marketing wizardry and fundraising finesse under my belt. I’m all about rallying support for worthy causes that support my community! Off-duty, you’ll find me sampling local eats with my hubs, taxiing my four sports-crazy kids around town, and singing Beyoncé tunes like nobody’s listening. Life’s a joyride, and I’m strapped in for the ride!
What walks do you manage/support?
Anchorage & Kenai Peninsula Walks
What inspires you to come to work every day?
Every day I know I’m working towards making Alzheimer’s a disease my children’s children will never have to experience. I love that I’m able to impact the future one Walk at a time.

What’s your favorite Walk memory?
My favorite Walk memory is from the 2023 season. Both the Anchorage & Kenai Peninsula committees worked hard to bring a variety of communities to the Walk. It was amazing looking out from the stage during each promise garden ceremony and seeing a sea of diverse faces that reflect the beauty of our state!
We are so grateful for Cyrese and the amazing team of volunteers who make the Walks a resounding success! Want to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s in Alaska? Take the first step and register today: https://act.alz.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=walk_chapter&scid=1702
